Evaluating geometry mathematics curriculum content intermediate stage In Iraq in light of international standards NCTM

Abstract

Research Summary: This study aimed to analyze geometry topics included in the books of mathematics middle school grades (1-3) in Iraq in light of the standards (NCTM) has been adopted, the researcher descriptive analytical method, as analyzed geometry topics included in the books mentioned by content analysis tool (as a tool for the study), which was built on the basis of standards (NCTM), and consisted only of books of mathematics in these rows above sample study of geometry topics, and the researcher used the percentages and frequencies statistically as treatments, the study concluded that the degree of availability of standards (NCTM) in geometry topics included books math middle school in Iraq, ranging from medium and low and that some of the criteria did not find her location appears, has recommended a researcher in the light of these findings to the need to build a platform geometry in accordance with international standards for each stage of education and dissemination of these standards on the administrators and teachers of mathematics through courses and workshops in order to develop and improve the curriculum in middle stage
