Imam Husain ( Pbuh) and the Principle of Social Justice

Abstract

The present research entitled Imam Husain ( pbuh) and the Principle of Social Justice dealt with one of the motives of Imam Husain 's ( pbuh) revolution which was to achieve justice and to build social justice and to reject and deny injustice and corruption and to confront those who practise injustice and corruption . Allah, the Most High, calls for justice and abhors injustice and tyranny due to the fact that through justice souls and rights are kept and all human beings are alike before law, unlike injustice . Injustice results in political and social unstabilty as problem and troubles of different kinds will accordingly arise . Considering the injustice and tyranny performed by Yazeed and the Ummayd power, Imam Husain 's ( pbuh) found no way but standing against such tyranny and injustice ; his revolution was considered a reform for what the Islamic Ummah had suffered . The present study focused on the principle of justice according to Islamic thinking . Justice is a necessary condition for stability at all levels , the political , the economic , the social the cultural , the educational and human rights . The study showed the role Imam Husain ( pbuh) played in establishing justice and in achieving social justice in ruling and administration and rejecting injustice , tyranny and corruption of all its types . For the sake of achieving social justice , Imam Husain and his progeny and companions died martyrs in the Al- Taff Battle . The present research , therefore , tackled and dealt with such topics as justice , justice in the holy Quran , the injustice , the types of injustice and also the justice in Sunna . This was followed by showing how Imam Husain ( pbuh) achieved social justice and how he stood against injustice, corruption and tyranny sacrificing his soul, his progeny and his companions
