Assess the performance of the Iraqi economy by using square KALDOR for the period 2003-2012

Abstract

In order to see the performance and achieved results of the Iraqi economy, during the period 2003-2012, particularly with respect to coordinates macroeconomic variables of the Iraqi economy which expresses the basic goals of economic policies, it was necessary adopt a non-traditional methodology, such as KALDOR methodology in the evaluation, exceeding cons of other methodologies especially in the case of the Iraqi economy, which is characterized by uncertainty and instability as a result of the many variables that went through the various its effects that Iraqi economy suffered, which prevented the identification of certain year to be taken as a basis for comparison. KALDOR model is an important indicator by which can be checked the perforamce of a certain economy through four indicators, that are ; the rate of growth of domestic product, inflation rate, unemployment rate, and the balance of payments, through a geometric shape with four ribs gives a brief state of the economy. The model is based on the analysis on base that explain the studied economy improves its indicators when its values approach the ribs of the square, when the inflation rate is little , with a marked decline in the unemployment rate and the achievement of economic surplus in the balance of payments, as well as acceptable economic growth that indicates the strength of the growth of the economy. In spite of the limited objectives that Kaldor Squire consists of, but its usefulness as an input abstract task in the analysis.
