The Pedagogical Values Implied in the Books of Reading Literary Texts in the Intermediate Stage

Abstract

This research aims to know the pedagogical values implied in the books of Reading Literary Texts in the intermediate stage*. The limit of the population of study was the content of the books of reading literary texts of the intermediate first and second years classes. The sample included the topics of these books which are (35) topics of first intermediate class and (29) topics of second intermediate class. The descriptive approach based on the analytical method was used for this purpose. To achieve the aim of this research , an analytical instrument was designed which consisted of (64) pedagogical values distributed into (7) fields. The books of reading literary texts of first and second intermediate classes were analyzed . To verify the stability of the analysis , the random sample was re-analyzed which was (10%) percentage of the reading literary texts books and with a temporal difference which was (3 weeks). The stability coefficient in the researchers' agreement with themselves (87%) for the first book and (90%) for the second book. The statement was used for the unity of analysis and the frequency for the unity of numeration. The percentages were used to count the frequencies. The study showed that there is (1086) statements in the content of the reading literary texts book of intermediate first class distributed into (64) pedagogical values. The value ( endearment of culture , heritage, and Arabic and Islamic history) got the first rank with (77) frequencies and (7.09 %) percent and ended with the value of (integrity) which came last with (2) frequencies and (0.18%) percent. Whereas the results concerned the book of the second intermediate class showed that (1097) statements distributed into (62) pedagogical values. It started with the value of (good moral) which got the first rank with (80) frequencies and (7.29%) and ended with the value of (cleanness) which came last and its frequency of occurrence was only (1) and (0.09%) percent. According to these results , a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented to conduct other researches to complete the recent research.
