The Philosophy of Governance: Building the Political Community of Iraq Beyond 2003

Abstract

Governance is an important cornerstone of building a political society because it is the way the political system and political authority are guided by official documents, especially the constitution, decisions, and laws, in the administration of government. These methods vary and thus the philosophy of governance from one state to another. Since 2003, Iraq has adopted a philosophy of governance different from the one it had before 2003, especially with regard to a fundamental and central issue: the transition from a society based on unilateralism to a pluralistic, rule-based society.
