Abstract

Abstract:Despite the development of historical studies regarding the woman as she is an independent knowledge domain started at the end of the sixties of the last century an the success of female researchers and writers in many middle east and north Africa countries in bringing the woman back to history, but the historical writing in Iraq still suffer the lack of many subjects that shed light on the social and economical life of the woman in the past. Male and female researchers still look to the history as a narration of wars and battles and the diaries of the politicians and not that potential that you don't see which became the representation of the real historical day.The problem of the absence of woman from the historical studies represented in two levels: first is neglecting the documentation of the women role and their social and economical situation which led to the devotion of the conventional sayings that look to the women role as marginal acts that don't affect the historic path of the events. The second one is the reluctance of female authors and historians in Iraq from writing the history of women and abandoning the documentation any historical record for the women. The current studies are trying to shed the light on the size of historical studies regarding the woman in Iraq and revealing the problems that face the writing in general and establishing a history for women in particular and recognizing the woman contribution to the Iraqi intellectual outcome in general and the historic outcome in particulars. The study depended on the survey of the Iraqi intellectual outcome during the past two decades and determining the proportion of the historical subjects in that outcome then identifying the area occupied by the woman history. And also the study relied on interviews as an article to gather the information to check for obstacles an hurdles that face the historical studies regarding the woman and the reason for the reluctance of female researchers from documenting the history of the woman in Iraq.
