Abstract

This research aims to achieve the first two objectives and joined : determining technical approaches and objectively document the pre-Islamic poetry link politely old Iraq and influenced much of his themes, especially the meaning and forms of poetry, as researcher found many links between literatures, it has demonstrated them in place, while the second goal: opted This research paper aims at studying the artistic image in the literature of ancient Iraq (Mesopotamia), in its verse and prose texts. The term (the literature of ancient Iraq) means the literature which is written in the Sumerian, Acadian (in its Babylonian and Assyrian dialects), and Aramaic languages. These languages (with Arabic) form the Semitic family of languages. These languages completely disappeared, something that allowed Arabic to crown the throne of creativity after pushing them away, one after the other, during the centuries which preceded and immediately followed the birth of Jesus Christ.. I noticed the significance of studying the artistic image in the literature of ancient Iraq during my readings of translated texts of that literature. The research paper tries to analyze verse and prose texts because they are the main manifestations of that literature in its art forms and its characteristics, so as to reach to the depths of the poets and other creative writers. The research also studies in detail the techniques of the artistic image and their achieved forms, which the poets and story tellers have mastered, through the study of the varieties of images and the mechanisms of presenting subjects, and the phenomenon of language duality, in addition to other topics which characterize that literature. Thus, that literature deserves to be called "original", a term which all archeologists agree that it will never be rivaled byany other literature in its originality and precedence
