Values and their relation to the national identity of university students

Abstract

The current search is aimed at what comes1. Measuring the values of university students.2. The difference in the values of university students is defined according to the variables of sex (male - female) and specialization (scientific - human)3. Measuring the national identity of university students.4 - Know the compassion in the national identity of university students according to the variables of sex (male - female) and specialization (scientific - human)5. Know the nature of the relationship between the values and the national identity of university students.The current research is determined by the Mustansiriya University students, male and female, and scientific and humanitarian specialties for evening studies for the academic year 2010-2011.The research society included Mustansiriya University students in the Faculty of Education from the scientific and humanitarian departments for the evening studies, all in the Faculty of Education (9) sections, while the number of students in these sections (7102) students distributed in these sections, the sample size (200) (100) students, and (100) students from the departments of mathematics and psychological guidance and guidance of the (50) students from each department, the researcher randomly selected sample of students from the University of Mustansiriya for evening studies, the adoption of the value scale for (Majid, 2007) for students The University, which consists of (42) paragraphs, were alternatives to answer, (applies ), (Apply to me a little), (apply to me a lot), (apply to me very much), (fully applicable), the scale (Mahmoud et al., 2010) was adopted for the national identity variable which consists of 21, The results showed that the results are characterized by a high level of values. In order to know the function of the difference in values according to the sex and specialization variables, the results indicated the following:There were no differences according to gender, specialization, and interaction, and the results showed that students are characterized by a high sense of national identity. There are no differences according to gender and specialization. In addition, the results indicate a positive correlation between the two variables (values and national identity)
