The effectiveness of the use of brainstorming strategies and educational games in the achievement of students in the first grade average mathematics and attitudes towards them

Abstract

Abstract The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the use of strategies of brainstorming and educational games in the achievement of students in the first intermediate class in mathematics subject and Their attitudes towards it. The sample consisted of (90) students randomly selected from the first intermediate class students from Tabarek intermediate in Salahdin province, divided into three groups, two groups are Experimental and the third is Adjuster. The first group is Studied according to the strategy of brainstorming and the second is Studied according to the strategy of educational games, while the third is Studied according to the usual method. The three research groups were equalized with three variables (age, achievement, Previous achievement in mathematics and intelligence). The researcher has prepared an achievement test make from (25) paragraphs of the type of multiple choice, and a Scale of the direction towards mathematics make from (26) paragraph. The researcher used the analysis of mono - variance (ANOVA)And t-test for two independent samples , The results of the statistical analysis showed that the differences were statistically significant in achievement and direction with favor of the two experimental groups. In the other hand there were no statistically significant differences between the two experimental groups , the first which was studied according to the strategy of brainstorming and the second which was studied according to the strategy of educational games in both achievement and direction.
