Environmental effects of batteries and some small electronic instruments in Wastes and their resultant toxicities

Abstract

(18) samples of expired batteries and some spoiled electronic instruments have been performed to determine the concentration of elements(lead, nickel, and cadmium) using atomic absorption and then compared with Iraqi standard specification no.(417) for the year 1984 and its 1st reform for year 2001 that include to drinking water. The results shown (6) reading for lead,(6) reading for cadmium and (17) reading for nickel were beyond the allowed limits.
