Evaluating Iraq Opportunity Sixth Primary from Teachers Perspectives.

Abstract

This study investigates English teachers’ perceptions concerning the effectiveness of the Textbook Iraq Opportunity Sixth Primary. The study was conducted with 60English teachers from different Schools from the General Directorate of First AL-Russafa, during the second term of the school year 2011-2012.Aquestionnaire (Teacher Textbook Evaluation Scale) (TTES)” was distributed to the teachers .the course book was evaluated in term of ‘layout and design, activities, language type, subject, content and skills. The data in the questionnaire was analyzed by calculating the mean scores,Percentages, standard deviation, and frequencies. The study revealed that Iraq Opportunity Sixth Primary.is effective though there are certain aspects which revealed by the teachers needs to be taken into consideration, and should be studied in depth by authorities in the Ministry of Education
