Abstract

The objective of the research is to develop a proposed vision for the development of the performance of faculty members at the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in light of the commitment to the ethics of the teaching profession. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method because of its relevance to the nature of the research and its objectives. The study sample consisted of (175) male and female students (102 male students - 73 female students) of postgraduate students at the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice at Umm Al Qura University in Makkah in the academic year (1438H - 1439H). The study tool was A questionnaire by the researcher . After verifying the questionnaire reliability and stability the it was applied. Where the most important results of the study were that: the approval of the members of the research sample on the degree of the commitment of the faculty members to the human relations with the students was (agree)with an average of (3.83) and a standard deviation of( 0.38),on the other hand the degree of the commitment of faculty members to teaching and learning was (to some extent) with an average (3.29) and standard deviation (0.40), the degree of the commitment of faculty members on the personal characteristics was (agree) with an average of (3.77) and a standard deviation (0.42), while it was (strongly agree) on proposals to develop the performance of faculty members at the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice with an average of (4.21) and a standard deviation of( 0.30). As for statistical differences the results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of (α 0.05)) among the sample of the study on the field (human relations with students) where the value of (T = 1.50), and the field (teaching and learning) where the value of (T = 0.112) , And the field of (personal qualities) where the value of (T = 0.140), and the field (proposals for the development of the performance of the faculty member), the value of (T = 0.113) attributed to sex, academic specialization , scientific level and duration of study. In light of the results of the research, the researcher proposed a vision to develop the performance of the faculty members of the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in light of the commitment to the ethics of the teaching profession. The researcher also recommended that the faculty members of the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice should be appended to the training courses to provide them with the necessary teaching skills, on the other hand the necessity to analyze the assessment of students to their professors at the end of each chapter and to know the shortcomings and methods of treatment, And that faculty upgrades should be linked to excellence in performance.
