Abstract

This research aims at: 1-The development of comprehending the spatial metaphors of time in the early childhood in accordance with two variables: A-The age (3,4,5,6)years. B-The gender(male/female).2-The indication of differences in the development of comprehending the spatial metaphors of time in the early childhood in accordance with two variables: A-The age of(3,4,5,6)years. B-The gender (male/female). In order to achieve the aims of the research the researcher adopted the test of spatial metaphors of time by (Lauren,2011) which consists of 6 stories .The test was translated into Arabic and then into colloquial Arabic. This translation was checked for its faithfulness and its standard characteristics.After applying research on the research sample of (64) children of both gender of each of the ages (3,4,5,6) years, 16 children were distributed eqrally on each catogary of abue mentioned of ayes. The following cohelusions were reached to: reached the following conclusions:1-The children of (6) years have the spatial metaphors of time whereas the children of (5)years or less don't .2-The spatial metaphors of time in the early childhood don't take a developing process in getting older.3-The development of the spatial metaphors of time is not effected by the gender. 4-Both variables of age and gender don't interact in the spatial metaphors of time in the period of the early childhood.
