Self-control for university teachers

Abstract

The current research aims to identify:1. The level of self-control among university teachers.2. The significance of the differences in the level of self-control according to the variables of sex and specialization.It is determined by teaching faculty of the University of Baghdad from humanitarian and scientific majors for the academic year (2013-2014). To achieve the goals of the research and given the lack of standard tools designed for the target group, the two researchers built a scale and self-control, and after checking the standard characteristics of it, according to a sample of Baghdad University’s teaching staff, it reached (250) teaching and teaching staff, by (130) teachers, and (120) Teaching, scientific and human specialties. After statistical processing of the data, the researcher reached the following results:1. The high level of self-control among the sample of university students.2. There is no effect of the variables of gender and academic specialization in self-control, as there was no statistically significant difference in the level of self-control among female and male teachers, and among those with scientific and human specialties
