The effect of the semantic map strategy on the reading comprehension of second intermediate class students

Abstract

The current research aims to know the effect of the semantic map strategy on Quranic comprehension among second-grade students in the middle class. The research sample consisted of (68) students, distributed among two groups, the first examining the reading subject according to the traditional method and the second experimental method that studied reading material according to the semantic map strategy, and by the rate of (35) A student of the control group. (33) A student of the experimental group, the researcher adequately rewarded between the students of the two groups in the chronological age, and / the parents' achievement, and worked to control the extraneous variables that affect the integrity of the experiment, the researcher's occurrence of Quranic comprehension skills, and formulated behavioral goals.Teaching plans were prepared, and after the end of the experiment, the researcher used a test to measure the Quranic understanding of the students after she proved his sincerity and analyzed his paragraphs statistically, and calculated its stability factor. The researcher used the t-test for two independent samples, and a square like any other statistical means in treating the research statistics and results. One of the research findings was that the strategy was effective in increasing the reader's understanding of the students of the experimental group. And the researcher got recommendations, including: adopting modern and successful strategies to teach reading in the second intermediate class, including the semantic map strategy. What I suggested was to conduct a similar study to know the effect of the semantic map strategy on other variables such as creative thinking and critical thinking
