Allelopathic Effect of aqueous extracts to some parts of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) in some growth characteristics to maize (Zea mays L.).

Abstract

Field experiment carried out through agriculture season from to 2017-2018 inAbu Ghraib aria for examination the impact of aqueous extracts of different concentrations(5%، 10%، 15% and 20%) of part (root، leaf and stem) of sunflowerplant (Helianthus annuus L.) on some growth characteristics of the Maize plant(Zea mays L.).The results showed that aqueous extracts caused inhibition in all studied characteristics. The control treatment gave the highest length of stem at maturity175.9 cm)، while the lowest length was at 20% of root extract treatment was )(35.86 cm). Also the minimum Leaf area at maturity (118.706 cm2) was at 10%of stem extract treatment، comparing with control treatment (507.814 cm2)، onthe other hand some treatments caused preventing plant to at flowering stage andother treatment were leading to increase in arrival period to the flowering stage. At 5% root extract treatment plants requires 81 day to arrive 50% of anthesisand 97 day to arrive 50% of silking، comparing to control treatment that it requires64 and 74 day to arrive flowering stage at anthesis and silking respectively
