Abstract

The process of rapid economic growth provides the opportunity for countries to provide more for their citizens, from the basic needs of their citizens, especially health care-related services, basic and higher education services, pensions for retirees, etc., so economic growth is one of the most important indicators that express the level of progress of societies, since economic growth does not It represents the increase in the gross domestic product only, but it must result in an increase in the real income of the individual, meaning that the rate of economic growth must exceed the rate of increase in the number of people in the long term. Real birth and this by excluding the effect of the change in the value of money (the purchasing power of the currency). This increase in GDP must be extended for a long period of time, not for a short passing period. Based on this, economic growth appears as a quantity in real GDP and per capita over a specific period of time, usually a year. The fluctuating rate of GDP growth and the average per capita share in the environment of the Iraqi economy during the period (2004-2017) and this results from economic and political fluctuations that have passed through the Iraqi economy, especially the Iraq-Kuwait war, economic sanctions during the nineties and the repercussions of the events of 2003. Diversification of sources of GDP By supporting the productive sectors, especially agriculture and industry, as well as the distribution sector and the service sector through the contribution of the private sector, and opening the door to foreign investment, which reduces dependence on oil production and stimulates economic growth and generates job opportunities.
