The sector and its impact on state policy in the Umayyad period

Abstract

The land has remained the cornerstone of economic activity inthe Arab Islamic country, considering the importance of agricultureas a permanent and stable occupation. The issue of the land, themethod of opening it and the means of ownership of it have ledto problems over time have affected on the state policy. So in theUmayyad era, we find the spirit of exploitation and uniquenessthat began appear with the rulers of Iraq, and this had a role in theoutbreak of division and turbidity relations between the caliphs andrulers and sometimes achieve the degree of crisis and collision. Andthe reason was for the exclusive possession of land and wide sectors,and underestimating the authority of the caliph, which negativelyaffected the policy of the state in the Umayyad era.
