Manufacturing electrical insulting devices from nanoceramic composites

Abstract

Epoxy as a matrix with different mix ratio of volume fractions , 2, 3 4, 7, 10, and15 % of ZrO2 nanoparticles (Zirconia (100 nm) and nano magnesium oxide (MgO (100 nm)), were used to prepare epoxy nanocomposites and in order to examine and study some of their electrical properties (dielectric constant , dissipation factor and electrical conductivity). The molding method was used to prepare epoxy and their nanocomposites specimens using shearing mixer, ultrasonic homogenizer and vacuum system. Electrical properties increase with addation of ZrO2 and MgO nanocomposites. The volume fraction 2% of MgO nano particales to epoxy matrix increase the dielectric constant and decreases the dissipation factor and electrical conductivity .the SEM technique use to explanation the electrical phenomena of different volume fraction of addition to matrix .
