Classification of Risks and Geomorphological Qualifications of the Tigris River between the Luqluq and Ba'iji Area

Abstract

The present research focuses on the classification of risks and the geomorphological qualifications of the Tigris River between Al-Luqluq and Ba’iji area, as the area suffers from a diversity in its geomorphological units and development in most of its units. Therefore, the research came to identify active geomorphological areas that have the ability to change and develop over time, while giving studied scenarios for high water levels and the areas they cover, in order to reach dangerous areas and areas that are not dangerous for human use. Moreover, this paper attempts to identify the potentials available to provide treatment methods to areas that suffer from danger, through dirt sealing and cladding of banks and other treatments.
