Measuring and analyzing the impact of spending on research and development on the economic growth for selected developed countries

Abstract

Research and development is the main source of technological innovation that leads to increased productivity, which leads to competitiveness and thus increased exports and growth. This study attempted to measure and analyze the impact of spending on research and development on economic growth in 12 developed countries for the period 2010-2018 using the analysis of cross-sectional time series data (Panel), and the study found that there is a positive and significant relationship between spending on research and development and economic growth in the studied sample.
