Evaluation Performance of Banks Listed in the Iraq Stock Exchange Using the CAMEL System: A Case Study of Bank of Baghdad"

Abstract

The study aimed to use the CAMEL system to evaluate the performance of banks and give a clearpicture of the performance of the Bank of Baghdad and detect the defect early, as well as to show thepositive side in the performance of the bank and try to strengthen it, and to identify weaknesses andtry to overcome them and access to a sound banking sector that preserves the rights of depositors andinvestors. The analytical method was used through the financial indicators of the CAMEL system andfor the period (2014-2018), the study concluded that the assumptions were accepted and that all theindicators of the CAMEL system came out positively, which is behind the good management of thebank and making decisions correctly in all its work, while the study recommended to work To increaseprofitability by optimizing the use of deposits as well as utilizing excess liquidity in the bank andinvesting in new projects
