Abstract

Diseases, in general, are considered as one of the problems that threaten human societies, but themost important of these diseases, in special way, is cancer. In Iraq, many types of cancers that infect childrenunder the age of 14 (including leukemia, brain cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma, bone cancer, kidneycancer, soft tissue cancer, liver and skin cancer) have appeared; and for this reason, studying and knowingthe concentration of cancer at any province of Iraq according to age groups, as well as knowing the age groupof children that is more exposed to cancer according to the type of cancer, greatly helps the State and healthinstitutions to diagnose the disease in the early stages to receive treatment through the best means availablein those provinces. The study has found that the higher percentage of people with cancer in Nineveh, is in the age group(0-4 years), while in Sulaymaniyah province the highest percentage is in the age group of (5-9), and inDohuk province the highest percentage is in the age group of (10-14). We noticed that the highestpercentage of liver cancer (Liver) was in the age group (0-4 years), while for the (4-9) year age group, thehighest percentage was Wilms' tumor (kidney),and the highest rate of bone cancer was in the (10-14) agegroup
