Evaluating the reformed education programs presented to the inmates at the battalion reform and rehabilitation center in Gaza Governorate and their effectiveness in achieving psychological and social compatibility

Abstract

The study aimed at exploring the effectiveness of reform programs of all kinds (educational, religious, educational, training, rehabilitation, health care, psychological and social care, and sports programs) at the reform and Rehabilitation Center of the battalion in Gaza Governorate and evaluating reform education programs provided to guests in achieving psychological and social compatibility with them. The researcher used the descriptive method in the social survey method in collecting data and information and applied the questionnaire to each of the inmates and workers on an experimental survey sample consisting of (15) inmates and workers at the battalion reform and rehabilitation center in Gaza. Among the most important findings of the study: The sample members of the inmates agreed with a very high degree on the reality of vocational training and qualification programs, and they also agreed to a high degree on the reality of each of the (psychological care programs and sports programs), and they also agreed on a medium degree to the reality of each of the ( Health care programs, social welfare programs, educational programs), while they agreed to a small degree on religious programs, as well as the results of the employees ’answers on the axis of the reality of the reform programs arranged according to their importance. Sports programs were in the first order and then psychological programs, followed by social programs and in the fourth And the last came educational programs. The sample members of the inmates also agreed to a small degree on the axis of how the environment of the reform and rehabilitation centers limits the benefit of the inmates from the reform programs, while the members of the sample of workers at a small degree also agreed on the axis of the severity of the environment of the reform and rehabilitation centers from the benefit of the inmates from the reform programs and that there are transforming factors Without achieving the most important reform programs (there is crowding in the environment of reform and rehabilitation centers and weakness in the level of program specialists), as the sample members of the inmates agreed on an average degree on the axis of what is the effect of the reform education programs presented to the inmates on achieving psychological and social reconciliation for them, It was represented in the most important factors (feeling motivated to repent, regretting the actions that entered the prison inmate, a feeling of joy and pleasure in joining the stages of education within the Reform and Rehabilitation Center), and the researcher recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is emphasizing the management of reform and rehabilitation centers to intensify efforts in providing Reform programs and developing them to achieve psychological and social compatibility and reduce the phenomenon of recidivism, as well as working to develop reform and rehabilitation centers in accordance with international standards to reduce the phenomenon of congestion of these centers and are consistent with the goals of reform and rehabilitation, Likewise, work to appoint full-time psychological and social counselors within the reform and rehabilitation centers to study the cases of inmates and their families to facilitate the process of integrating the released into society in order to effectively achieve the results of the reform and rehabilitation programs.
