Alija Izetbegovic A historical Study of his Political and Intellectual Role 1925-2000
Abstract
The study of the role of Alija Izetbegovic, the intellectual politician of 1925-2000, was of great importance who is one of the most prominent political and cultural figures in Bosnia and Herzegovina after the second half of the Twentieth Century. He became famous after 1983 when they were taken to a mosque with a group of Bosnian Muslim intellectuals and imprisoned by the Yugoslav government for calling for Islamic fundamentalism and planning for the establishment of an Islamic state in Europe . His political role has been prominent in the political arena since 1989, and he witnessed the life and death of the Republic of Yugoslavia. He led the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in its most difficult historical stages during the war of 1992-1995.
