Economic Activity in Tripoli During the Karamanli Eule (1711-1835)
Abstract
In the 18th century AD, several important questions unfolded within the entity of the Ottoman Empire, not only to predict its weakness and reduce its control over its properties, but for its rupture by external threats, such as: the Russian advance from the north, and internal threats, which were represented in the separation of many of its provinces from Topkapi Palace obedience. In the last province, one of the local family members managed to control the administration of the province and move away from the central Ottoman authority, as it became, as it seemed, an independent state with its own entity and its own institutions, and has reached the point of intersection with the Sublime Porte in the field of foreign policy. Through this article: (Economic activity in Tripoli During the Karamanli rule (1711-1835)), the researcher attempted to shed light on the structure of the Karamanli economy and to study the areas of economic activity and show their cases of distinction and failure, and if the Karamanli authority had tried to work on the development of economic activity in its different aspects, in order to allow it to revive and support the economy.
