Cloud computing and its relevance to libraries And information centers

Abstract

The term cloud computing is considered new and ambiguous. In spite of the simplicity of the theoretical concept which the term is based on, there are real challenges for the term concerning its practical part. Cloud computing is regarded the third revolution in the field of information technology. It comes after computer and internet according to some scholars. From this point, the researchers try to shed lights on this term as a solution for problems and obstacles which delay the processing in the institutions which make use of it such as the problem of software , equipment, cost ,etc…. This research is a review of cloud computing in terms of its components, characteristics , types , advantages , disadvantage , projects as well as its inclusion in knowledge society and libraries and information centers . The research concludes with a rapid review related to the future of cloud computing
