Social Exclusion among University Students

Abstract

exclusion among university students, the study aimed to identify: -1- Knowing the level of social exclusion among university students.2- Identify the significance of the differences of the social exclusion scale according to the gender variable (male - female). In order to achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher used the following tools: -1 - The researcher prepared a scale according to the steps of the scales in the scientific research, and its validity and reliability were extracted. The two scales were applied to the research sample of (400) students from Tikrit University for the third stage distributed according to the gender variable. Pearson correlation coefficient - Chi square - Scheffe test).As well as the most prominent results of the research were the following: -1. University students are not characterized by social exclusion, because they do not feel isolated, lonely, and withdrawn from social activities. Rather, they interact constructively with others, have self-confidence and the ability to establish social relationships and assume responsibility, and they feel that they belong to their community.2. There are individual differences between males and females in the nature of their responses, as males are less extreme in their responses compared to females, and all social upbringing institutions aim towards strengthening this, albeit unintentionally through conservative behaviors and rigidity in the way females deal with all Vocabulary of the social environment. In light of the research results, the researcher formulated a set of recommendations and suggestions
