Self-concept for Stuttering and Normal Children: A comparative study

Abstract

This study aims to identify the compare the level of self- concept of stutterer and normal students in the basic education and whether there are differences in the level towards the sex variable. To achieve the study purpose, a questionnaire was designed by researcher. The study sample, which consisted of (40) male and female children in basic education. From ages between (7 to 9) years. Divided in to two groups, 20 of them are in group Stuttering (16 males, 4 females), and 20 are with normal group (16 males, 4 females). The current study followed a descriptive approach, then using the appropriate statistical methods.In addition, the results showed that the level of self-concept of stuttering students and normal students was moderate towards normal students. There were significant differences due to sex. Based on the result, the researcher recommends some recommendation
