Personal values of State Employees

Abstract

The concept of values is one aspect of the personality that underlies motivation of attitudes and behavior and the current research aimed to identify the following: 1. Patterns of six personal values (theoretical, social, religious, economic, aesthetic, political) among state employees,2. Level of differences in personal values according to: A- gender (male, female), b- length of service (10 years and over ten years), c. Working in direct contact with the references (yes, no), and in order to achieve the research objectives, the researcher adopted a measure (Abdul Sahib, 2008) On the perspective of Springer1928,. to measure personal values, and consisted in its final form of (21) paragraphs, and applied the measure to a sample of (400) employees working in the office of the following ministries (health, electricity, ages, housing, municipalities, public occupancy, justice) The research came to: 1. The individuality of the research sample has low personal values, 2. There are statistically significant differences in personal values, attributable to (male, female) benefit in relation to theoretical and economic values For the benefit of males, religious and social values in favor of females, there are no differences of political and aesthetic values, and there are no statistically significant differences to the service duration (ten years and less, more than ten years), and there are no statistically significant to the direct contact with the reviewers (yes, no) except for aesthetic values and for the benefit of (no), and the researcher came up with several recommendations, including: subjecting applicants to the standards of organizational values before they are appointed to build a successful institutional society.
