Abstract

: Whatever the protection authority، access to criminal protection requires a number of measures that terminate either by accepting the protection request or rejecting it in the event that the protection applicant does not deserve it، this is on the one hand، but on the other hand there must be guarantees when seeking protection which encourages witnesses، experts، informants and the victim They must tell the truth away from external influences، the most important of which is the confidentiality of the sessions of the request for protection. In the Law on the Protection of Witnesses، Experts، Informers and Victims No. 58 of 2017، the Iraqi legislator has given the protection authority to the judiciary through a series of procedures through which the enjoyment of criminal protection is reached whenever its conditions are met.
