Abstract

The aim of the research is to shed light on the analysis and measurement of Basel III controls, which have a role in influencing the volume of deposits for the surveyed banks, as well as diagnosing and knowing what factors affect the application of Basel III controls. The problem of the study started from the main question of the study, which is "Do the requirements of the Basel III Committee affect bank deposits? The study was also based on two main hypotheses. As the research adopted the descriptive-analytical approach to determine the indicators that should be included in the study, and represented the research community in the Iraqi banking sector so that the number of banks would be a sample for the study which is (10) banks, and the study used the analytical method to analyze data to reach the results The study reached a number of conclusions and recommendations, the most important of which was the significant effect of the Basel III Committee's controls on the deposit coverage rate. In light of these results, the study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which is the formation of internal committees in the general administration of banks that specialize in the recommendations of the Basel Committee.
