Linguistic competencies between theory and practice

Abstract

The processes of building the general Arabic language curricula are no longer based on personal diligence or individual efforts; Rather, it has become a science with well-established foundations and rules, and it is constantly evolving according to what is produced by studies and scientific research in the field of Arabic language curricula and methods of teaching. It is no secret that university students suffer from linguistic weakness; The authentic Arabic vocabulary stops their hearing, and their tongue becomes heavy when improvising in a linguistic situation, and their reading of written texts stumbles, and it is surprising that they are in their hands, not to mention the linguistic deficit in the expression industry and its skills. From the standpoint of the unity and integration of the Arabic language, the researcher set out to prepare a special curriculum for the general Arabic language for the university level according to the linguistic competencies; To be a new trend in the development of the Arabic language in Iraqi universities at the subject level on the one hand, and the development of students' linguistic abilities on the other hand. This research came with linguistic competencies. The researcher tried to present the scientific theories of language acquisition among linguists and theories of learning them in schools of psychology. He found a new educational approach that looks at the Arabic language as a single unit, which is linguistic competencies; Because it is an integrated linguistic outcome.
