COVID-19 pandemic and family cohesion (a field social study in the city of Baghdad)

Abstract

The study aims to show the family's cohesion in the time of the pandemic of covid-19، which is one of coronaviruses that greatly affects the Iraqi and international society. The study also seeks to show the educational، psychological، social، health، and economic dimensions of covid-19 that affect the family cohesion in Baghdad. Besides، the study tried to show the positive and negative implications of covid-19 on (the indiviual) the child، woman، the old، and the youth، As for collecting the needed data، the researcher worked on a random sample of (300) families from Al-Karkh and Al-Resafa in Baghdad، employing three different tools based on literature: interviews، observations، in addition to other statistical means، The findings of the study are demonstrated as follow the low level of living during the Corona pandemic has significantly affected family relationships، and there is a growth of domestic violence، especially against women at the level of (69.0%) and there is a growth of domestic violence، especially against women at the level the Corona pandemic with a percentage of (82.7%) The awareness and commitment campaigns to prevent coronavirus that were broadcasted on social media have positively contributed to the health awareness of individuals at the level of (52%). It formed one of the roles of social service in health care and social responsibility by individuals during crises.
