The Role of Using Cooperative Instruction in Teaching English in Saladin Secondary Schools

Abstract

This study aims at showing the role of using cooperative instruction. The instruments used for this study are a questionnaire, and interview, where the sample used for this study are 30 students from Tikrit secondary school and 51teachers for the questionnaire. Moreover, eleven teachers participated for interview. It is found out that several complications existing in cooperative instruction practice such as: the instructors’ absence of sufficient realization about learning cooperatively; groups dividing randomly and in irrelevant way; the learners do not have enough information concerning the tasks based on cooperative learning.
