The Contribution of Strategic Decision Effectiveness in Improving Institutional Performance: An Analytical Study in the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh Province

Abstract

This research paper addresses the topic of "Strategic Decision and Its Role in Improving Organizational Performance." It focuses on the importance of making high-quality strategic decisions within the framework of organizational performance management and highlights how strategic decisions impact the achievement of the institution's strategic goals and overall performance improvement. This research paper questions how to improve the quality of strategic decisions and how they can play a vital role in enhancing the institution's performance. It examines the impact of strategic decisions on the process of managing organizational performance, and how this process can be improved by adopting an approach that emphasizes the quality and integration of decisions with the institution's strategies.This study aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the interaction between the quality of strategic decisions and organizational performance, with a focus on the factors that need to be considered to enhance this interaction and improve outcomes. It is conducted in the General Directorate of Education in Nineveh Province, using a questionnaire distributed to (60) respondents among the directors working in the directorate, following a descriptive-analytical approach. Based on the data obtained from the questionnaire, an analysis is conducted, and a set of results is obtained indicating the presence of a correlation and impact between the effectiveness of strategic decisions and organizational performance at both the overall and partial levels in the directorate.In light of this, the research offers a set of administrative recommendations to enhance the requirements of managing educational institutions in the directorate, including the necessity to develop decision-making processes by establishing effective structures and processes for making strategic decisions, improving the flow of information and its periodic analysis to ensure an accurate basis for decision-making, enhancing communication and interaction by encouraging continuous interaction between different departments of the institution, and organizing social sessions and workshops to exchange ideas and foster cooperation.
