"The significance of Colours in the Narrative Genre of Omar Al Talib"

Abstract

This research deals with the significance of the colours in the short stories and novels by Omar Al Talib. He is one of the best novelists in Mosul who used colours and their significance in his works in such away that each colour (e.g. Red, blue, white, black,...) symbolizes love, hatered, virginity, honour, sadness,... We found, according to the statistics, that the, dominated colour in the "Man of the new time" and "The Distance of love" for example is the black followed by white. The red colour, on the other hand, dominates "The wounded Gardens" and "Postponed hopes".
