Effect of Zn substitution on the superconducting properties of Bi2-x Pb0.3 Znx Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ System

Abstract

High temperature superconductors with nominal composition Bi2-xPb0.3Znx Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ for0≤ x ≤0.3 were prepared by solid state reaction in air. The effect of substitution of Zn on the superconducting properties has been investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed an orthorhombic structure with a high Tc phases (2223), low Tc-phase (2212) and impurity phases .The highest transition temperature obtained for Bi1.9 Pb0.3 Zn0.1 Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ was 110 K.
