Abstract

Since the fall of Baghdad in on the hands of the Mongols, the political, economic, and social conditions in Iraq were unstable. It deteriorated during the Ottoman reign, particularly in the nineteenth century. Education development signs did not appear and Iraq remained underdeveloped and dependent on the primitive study methods represented by the popular Mullahs schools in mosques that taught little boys the Glorious Qur'an. This condition changed during the national reign ( ) as the government adopted the process of building governmental schools encouraging people to get education, which was not only dedicated for males but also for females, in addition to the spread of vocational and secondary education.However, the weakness pointed out on education during the royal reign is the spread of the foreign schools which were interested in the sects' children causing variance in education. The researcher presented many tables showing with figures educational development across the years.
