Potential concerns among the students of the Collage of Education during the application

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know the main fears that haunt the minds of the students who train practically in schools, and to know the statistically significant differences among them depending on two variables: sex and scientific specification. Only the students of the final stage(the fourth) of the ten scientific and humanistic departments of the College of Education / Basra University for the academic year 2008/2009 are included in the research. The total number of the society of the students is 642. A random sample of 249 male and female students is chosen representing %38.785 of that society, 44 are males and 205 are females, 90 of them are from the scientific department and 159 from the humanistic departments in accordance with the variable of the scientific specification. The two researchers have prepared a device to measure the students' fears. It consists of 92 items representing seven main dimensions of the total process of practical training. The psychometric characteristics of credibility and stability have been affirmed; the apparent credibility and the credibility of content have been derived while the stability has been derived by (dividing in two) and corrected by (Jetman Equation). It has been calculated by Alfa kronbasch modulus which amounted to 0.982 in the two ways. It is a high and significant stability modulus. In this research, the researchers have used percentage, Pearson Modulus, Jetman Equation, Standard Error Equation, Fisher Equation, the T Test for two samples not equal in number, and statistical devices. The study concluded that there are 5 main significant fears haunting the students' minds, and that there is no statistically significant difference in the fears that can be attributed to sex variable or to scientific specification variable. The researchers interpreted the results and gave their conclusion. Relying on that, they put forth their recommendations and suggestions
