Some of the social aspects of the city of Basra through the Indian Almarka newspaper

Abstract

The subject of this paper tackles the study of the most significant social sides of Basra city, during the period (1908-1914) especially things that are associated with people’s deily life in particular the religious as well as the formal accasions. Also the aspect, that are related to education which presented the extent of concern of the authority that existed at that times in Basrah as was represented by the personality of Al Wali especially through the journal entitled, Mura’s althindi which was considered as one of the most famous journal in that period.
