The Causes of Corruption in Middle East and North Africa Countries (MENA):an empirical study using a simple pooling data for the period (2003-2007).


At the last decades corruption is attracting a lot of attention aroundthe world. This paper discuss the variables related to the "Causes ofCorruption" in MENA countries at the period (2003-2007). We useda pooling data for a five years for (19) countries was used to fit theregression equations. The study conclude that corruption is a highlydetermined by the (root of corruption, weakness rule of law, droppingthe total secondary enrollment ratio, weakness of competitive in thelocal market, and the Rating of freedom of the press). We suggestthat, if a certain reforms are not made, corruption will be a real bigproblem in (MENA) countries.
