EFFECT OF HUMIC ACID AND STRESS RELIEF ON SUMCHARACTERISTICS OF JAPANESE PLUM SEEDLING Prunus salicina L. EXPOSED TO WATER STRESS

Abstract

Abstract :This experiment was conducted in the lanth house of Horticulture Department-College of Agriculture-Baghdad university during the growing season of 2011 To study the effect of water stress on growth of plum seedling cv.Bathenjany budded on apricot rootstock and redused the injury by spray humic acid and Stress relief(Sr) . treatments were included three levels of water stress when using up 25% (control) 50 and 75 of available water , two concentration of Humic acid 0 , 2 ml.L-1 and two concentration of( Sr) 0 , 3 ml.L-1 . nested design at three replicates was conducted, L.S.D at 5% for means compare .The Results obtained showed that water stress treatments increased water potential and proline on the leaf and reduced RWC , Stomatal area and chlorophyll content in the leaf , on the other hand Humic acid and Sr reduced water potential and proline and increased RWC and chlorophyll .
