INTERACTIVE EFFECT OF WATER STRESS , POTASSIUM AND RHIZOBACTEREN ON CELLS NUMBER OF BACTERIA IN RHIZOSPHERE OF WHEAT ROOT

Abstract

ABSTRACTPots experiment was conducted in green house – Soil Science – College of Agriculture – University of Baghdad , at winter season 2010 , to study the interactive effect of three water stresses (50 , 70 and 90%) of the available water , potassium fertilizer addition and without potassium, inoculation seed with Rhizobacteren and without inoculation on cells number of bacteria at rhizosphere of wheat root , at vegetative and tellaring stages of plant growth . Randomized complete block design (RCBD) was used with three replicates . The results showed that : The lower water stress increased bacterial cells number of Rhizobacter significantly at percent of 43.2 and 58.9% at vegetative and tellaring stages of plant growth respectively. While the same stress increased significantly number cells of Azospirillum at percentage of 31.5 and 25.6% at the same stages of plant growth respectively compared with high stress.Potassium fertilizer addition significantly increased cells number of both bacterial genus at the same stages . There were no cells observed (not detectable cells) without inoculation seed by Rhizobacterene.
