RESPONSE OF FIVE SYNTHETC VARIATES 0F CORN TO PLANTING DATES.
Abstract
ABSTRACT :This experiment was conducted during the fall season of 2011 and spring season of 2012 in a field in Sadat AL-Hendia , 25 Km at the East North of Babylon , to study the response 0f five synthetic varieties (5018 , 5012 , Rabea , Bohooth 106 and Maha) of corn to planting date ( 10July , 25July and 10August.) as well as (1March ,10 March, 20March ) in the fall season of 2011 and spring season 0f 2012 respectivaly in a split plot in RCBD with three replications ,the main plots were the genotypes while planting times represent the sub-plot .Result can be summarized . A significant differences was observed among genotypes for the fall season, Bohooth 106 gave the No raw /ear ( 16.85) ,total grain yield (9.34)ton /ha . while for the spring season it is also noted that same genotype resulted in, raw No/ear (17.14), seed No./ear (634.25), total grain yield (7.88)ton/ha , and harvest index (43.68)%. As for the planting time , the plants planted on 25 July took , this date , however , gave higher raw No./ear(16.98) , seed No.(630.57) grain yield (9.85)ton/ha and harvest index reached (46.99)% for fall season, seed No.(611.50), grain yield (8.30)ton/ha , harvest index (43.09) .The interaction of Bohooth 106 planted at 25 th July gave the highest means of grain yield (10.90)ton/ha for the fall season , while in the spring season , the interaction between bohooth 106 with planting in1st March gave higher yield reached (9.07) ton/ha .
