The vital effect of ground ginger roots on some physiological characteristics of the Female Awassi lambs

Abstract

The study was aimed to know The vital effect of ground ginger roots on some physiological characteristics of the female Awassi lambs. twelve female Awassi lambs were used in this study they were 4 - 4.5 months of age and an average weight of 20.15 ±1.05 kg . the female Awassi lambs were divided randomly into 3 groups . the group was left without treatment as control group . the first and second groups received were giving 5 % and 10 % ground ginger roots respectively . The results revealed that group, The first and second groups were highly significant (p>0.05) in their Hb and PCV, also feed additives caused significant (p>0.05) increase in RBC , WBCs, lymphocyte and monocytes ratio, while they caused significant decrease in neutrophils compared with the control group. The total serum protein and albumin of Animals of both groups ( first and second ) fed herbal medicine were highly significant (p>0.05) in comparing with the control group. While the globulin level was not affected, also blood sugar of both groups fed zingiber showed significant (p> 0.05) lower levels compared with the control group
