Study of optical properties of (ZnO:Cu) thin films prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis

Abstract

Thin films of pure (ZnO) and Cu doped ZnO were deposited on glass substrates temperature at (300oC )using the chemical spray pyrolysis technique. The study includes the study of optical properties through measuring the spectra of absorbance and transmittance in the wavelength range (380-1100) nm. The values of the forbidden energy gap for the allowed direct electronic transitions were calculated and found to be (3.19-3.25)eV, the reflectance and the optical constants such as extinction coefficient, refractive index, and dielectric constant in its two parts real and imaginary and optical conductivity as a function of photon energy and wavelength were calculated .
