Abstract

The present work provide theoretical study with the help of the experimental study to study the ion mirror effect and the most important factors that effect this phenomenon that occurs within a focusing ion beams (FIB) for polymer (PVC ( poly(vinyl chloride).Mathematical description was provided for the charging process and the accumulation of charges that lead to ion mirror effect in this research and then study the main currents that flow through the insulating material (poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC () since the beginning of irradiation model to be up to the saturation state.MATLAB software was used to calculate the main variables affecting the ion mirror effect such as the time constant, displacement current and leakage current for specimen. The results show that the ion mirror effect can be used as an excellent method to calculate the dielectric constant of the model and determines the time required to reach the specimen to the state of saturation, also calculating the radiation-induced conductivity for specimen has carried out
