Results of studies have shown that there is a consensus among scientists and educators about the need to educate and develop the mental capacities of all members of society, and in all age groups, especially among school and university students in order to build a generation thinker, taking into account that these skills and mental capacity does not grow automatically (Atoum et 0.2007 : 43)

يعد التفكير في الحياة اليومية العادية هو تفكير نمطي عادة لا يؤدي إلى نمو يذكر في خبراتنا ومعلوماتنا ، في حين أن التفكير الحاذق ( الماهر ) يؤدي بنا إلى نمو بخبراتنا ومعارفنا، إذ يتمخض عنه فهم عميق لظواهر حياتنا وتوصلنا لاستنتاجات واستدلالات جديدة من اجل هذا نسعى إلى تعليم هذا النوع من التفكير . وأظهرت نتائج الدراسات أن هناك إجماعا بين العلماء والمربين بخصوص ضرورة تعليم وتطوير القدرات العقلية لدى جميع أفراد المجتمع، وفي جميع المراحل العمرية، خاصة لدى طلبة المدارس والجامعات بهدف بناء جيل مفكر آخذين بعين الاعتبار ان هذه المهارات والقدرات العقلية لا تنمو تلقائيا (العتوم وآخرون ، 2007 :43) ER -
