المستخلص:إن أهم ما يميز الثورات والانتفاضات التي قامت بها الشعوب في عدد من البلدان العربية، أنها بالفعل ثورات تطالب بحقوق انتزعت وأهدرت لسنوات طويلة، وإن هذه الحقوق لم تقتصر على الديمقراطية والحقوق السياسية، ولكنها تضمنت العديد من الحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي كانت مسلوبة أيضاً، وهكذا فإنَّ المطالب السياسية بالتغيير وبإزاحة السلطة في هذه البلدان وإقامة نظم ديمقراطية تحترم حقوق الإنسان وتعيد له كرامته كان يعكس في الوقت نفسه رؤية نافذة للواقع الاقتصادي والاجتماعي في هذه البلدان ترفض السياسات الاقتصادية المتبعة منذ عقود، وما اقترن بها من سيادة الفساد المؤسسي والاحتكار وتراكم الثروات لحساب قلة من الحكام والدوائر المحيطة بهم.وقد كان بالمقابل بالنسبة للشعوب العربية تزايداً في معدلات الفقر وتهميشاً للغالبية العظمى من السكان وانخفاض مستوى معيشتهم وانتشار البطالة، ولاسيما بين الشباب والخرجين الجدد، وعدم حصول الغالبية من السكان على ما يشبع احتياجاتهم من الغذاء والسكن والتعليم والرعاية الصحية والخدمات الاجتماعية نتيجة للسياسات الليبرالية التي استهدفت أساساً تحقيق مصالح الطبقات المسيطرة بشكل أدى أيضاً إلى تقلص الطبقات الوسطى وتراجع دورها الاقتصادي والاجتماعي والثقافي وانضمام شرائحها الدنيا لاسيما في الريف إلى الطبقة الفقيرة.} }
